Welcome back to LLM Decode 👋
Two developments this week point to a bigger shift in the AI economy. OpenAI is scaling ChatGPT Ads into a $1B annualized business, while Runway is experimenting with AI-generated interfaces that respond to users in real time.
Here’s what matters today.
ChatGPT Ads Just Hit a $1B Run Rate

OpenAI says its ChatGPT advertising business has reached a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate in less than 200 days. The platform is now used by tens of thousands of advertisers and is available in more than 40 countries.
OpenAI is also expanding self-serve advertising through Ads Manager across India, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The company says ads are clearly labeled and kept separate from ChatGPT's answers.
Why It Matters
Search advertising has traditionally captured people through keywords and queries. AI assistants can capture something different: the context behind a decision. For marketers, that creates a new question not simply “What keyword should we target?” but “How does our brand show up when someone is deciding what to buy?”

Runway Wants AI to Build the Interface as You Use It

Runway has introduced Solaris, its first “Interface World Model.” Instead of generating a static webpage or writing code for a predefined interface, Solaris generates the interface itself, frame by frame, as users click, drag and interact with it.
That means an interface can change dynamically around the user's actions. Runway describes potential applications ranging from interactive product experiences and virtual stores to tutorials and simulations. The company is currently working with partners to make Solaris publicly available.
Why It Matters
Today, software is largely built first and experienced second. Solaris points toward a different model: the experience itself can be generated on demand. For creators, product teams and marketers, this could eventually mean moving from designing fixed screens to designing the rules, visuals and context an AI uses to generate experiences.
4 AI Tools & Community Workflows
AI Visibility Audit: Ask multiple AI assistants the same product or category questions to see which brands, competitors, and sources appear in recommendations.
AI Ad Research: Use ChatGPT to turn customer questions into audience insights, campaign angles, ad copy, and creative briefs.
Interactive Prototype Testing: Use AI design and prototyping tools to turn product ideas into interactive experiences and test different user journeys before development.
AI Experience Strategy: Instead of asking, “How do we put AI into our product?”, ask, “Which parts of the customer experience could become adaptive, conversational, or generated on demand?”
