Welcome back to LLM Decode 👋
AI is moving from “chatbots” to full-scale autonomous systems. This week, the biggest updates weren’t just about smarter models - they were about AI becoming more integrated into research, workflows, and everyday products.
Here’s what matters today.
Encrypted Prompt Injection Shows a New Attack Path for Grok

Security researchers at Adversa AI have demonstrated a new attack technique against Grok's web chat, called cryptographic context injection. The attack hides malicious instructions inside encrypted content on a webpage that an AI agent is asked to process. (The Register)
The key problem is that traditional guardrails inspect the visible input before the model acts on it. Strongly encrypted instructions can appear harmless during that inspection, but Grok can use its code-execution environment to decrypt the content and then follow the hidden instructions. (The Register)
In a proof-of-concept, researchers demonstrated that the technique could be used to exfiltrate a user's Grok chat history, including prompts and account-related information, by sending the information to an attacker-controlled URL. The researchers said they reported the issue to xAI, and reported that the technique remained effective on Grok.com as of August 19. (The Register)
Why It Matters
AI security systems must protect against threats that appear only after content is decrypted or executed.
Traditional text-based guardrails may not be enough for agents with browsing and code-execution capabilities.
Sensitive chat histories should not automatically be treated as safe simply because they are inside an AI application.
Agent security increasingly requires runtime monitoring, tool restrictions and data-loss prevention, not just prompt filtering.

Google Brings Advanced AI Learning Tools to Indian Students

Google is offering eligible college students in India one year of Google AI Plus at no cost. The plan includes higher Gemini usage limits, access to Gemini Omni, 400GB of storage, and additional AI-powered learning capabilities. (ETEducation.com)
The education push also includes new tools designed around how students actually study. Gemini can turn notes and course material into study guides, quizzes and personalized learning resources, while interactive tools can help explain difficult concepts and visualize complex topics. (The Verge)
For Indian learners, Google is also expanding AI-assisted preparation for competitive exams. Its Gemini and Search experiences include practice and learning features for exams such as JEE and NEET, alongside tools for research, homework support and structured study. (blog.google)
Why It Matters
AI tutoring is becoming a mainstream part of student learning and exam preparation.
Free access can introduce millions of young users to advanced AI workflows early.
Personalized quizzes, study plans and visual explanations could make learning more adaptive.
The bigger competition may be for long-term AI habits, not just short-term subscriptions.
