Welcome back to LLM Decode 👋
AI is entering a new phase where the interface and economics matter almost as much as intelligence. OpenAI is turning ChatGPT responses into interactive experiences, while Anthropic is making capable AI dramatically cheaper to run at scale.
Here’s what matters today.
ChatGPT Just Turned Answers Into Interactive Experiences
OpenAI has started rolling out GPT-6 with Intelligent UI, a new capability that lets ChatGPT build responses using more than text. Depending on the task, it can create graphics, charts, forms, buttons, diagrams and interactive experiences directly inside a conversation.

The important change is that ChatGPT can now create a tool for the task itself. Users can ask for things such as a calculator, bill splitter or interactive learning experience instead of finding a separate application.
GPT-6 can also begin answering while it continues thinking or using tools. OpenAI says GPT-6 Instant starts answers to web-search questions 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant, while progressively adding more findings.
Why it matters
The chatbot is becoming an application platform: AI can dynamically create the interface needed for a task.
Software becomes more flexible: Users may increasingly describe what they want instead of learning how a particular app works.
Interactive answers can improve learning: Complex concepts can be explored rather than simply read.
Creators and businesses can build lightweight tools faster: A calculator, planner or interactive experience may start with a prompt rather than a development project.
Anthropic Just Made High-Volume AI Much Cheaper
Anthropic has launched Claude Haiku 5.5, calling it its cheapest, fastest and most capable small model yet. It is designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive workloads such as summaries, classification, database queries, compaction and subagent tasks.

Anthropic says Haiku 5.5 costs around 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5 on average. It is also positioned for speed-sensitive applications including live customer support and browser-based workflows.
The price cuts extend beyond Haiku. Anthropic is halving the cache-read price for Claude Sonnet 5.5, which it says makes Sonnet roughly 20% cheaper on most agentic workloads.
Why it matters
AI becomes cheaper to deploy at scale: High-volume workflows become more economically viable.
Small models can handle more routine work: Businesses don't need their most expensive model for every task.
Agent economics are improving: Lower costs make long-running, multi-step agents easier to justify.
Model selection becomes a business decision: The best model isn't necessarily the smartest one - it's the one with the right balance of quality, speed and cost.
4 AI Workflows to Try
Turn Answers Into Tools: Instead of asking AI for a result, ask it to create a simple interactive tool that helps you reach the result yourself.
Build a Model Routing System: Use a more capable model for complex reasoning and a cheaper model for repetitive tasks such as classification, summaries and formatting.
Audit Your AI Costs: Break down your AI workflow by task and identify where expensive models are being used for simple work. Test whether a smaller model produces acceptable results.
Design Progressive AI Responses: For long-running research or agent workflows, structure outputs so users receive useful intermediate findings instead of waiting for the entire task to finish.
